CROSS BORDER CONVERTERS  (The cheapest way)

If you purchase a digital-to-analog converter box to watch digital broadcasts on an analog TV and also wish to continue watching analog programming broadcast from stations in either Mexico or Canada, you should purchase a converter box with "analog pass-through" capability, which allows analog broadcast signals to pass through the converter box to be tuned by your analog TV. Converter boxes with analog pass-through capability will also enable you to watch U.S. low-power and translator television stations, most of which will continue to broadcast in analog after February 17, 2009.  Call us or email us for more details.  Click here to see full document in pdf form.  The problem with this way, it totally depends on the combination of the antenna, reception & your room if you have rabbit ears.  The same box in the east side of the house retrieved, not only the new digital stations, but got more Canadian stations then before.  When we put the same box in the northern room, we received some different digital stations, but couldn't get 29, & 49.  You still have to play with the antenna unless you find one spot that gets most of them.  Customers with an outside antenna are reporting the greatest success.  The other thing to note, is that unless you get a good signal, you may not get the digital station at all.  Most of the people that call; say they don't watch much tv so that is all they need.  The other problem is you have another remote as now you change the digital channels through the converter box.   You decide.
